ENGLISH 10 (4 credits)
This course is designed for adults returning to school who want to prepare for senior-level English courses and for school aged students who need English 10 to graduate.  Students learn to communicate effectively in written, spoken and visual forms.  Students analyze literature, the mass media and various informational / technical materials.

ENGLISH 11 (4 credits)
A variety of literary works provide the framework for students to develop competencies in analyzing and responding to literature. Grammar and composition skills are also important components of the course.

ENGLISH 12 (4 credits)
This course will provide opportunities for personal and intellectual growth through speaking, listening, reading/viewing, and writing/representing. Students will study a variety of information texts, short stories and poems as well as a novel and a play. They will also work on various grammar topics that will help them improve their writing mechanics.

ENGLISH 12 ONLINE (4 credits)
This course will provide opportunities for personal and intellectual growth through speaking, listening, reading/viewing, and writing/representing. Students will study a variety of information texts, short stories and poems as well as a novel. There are also optional online lessons that will help them improve their grammar and writing.

FAMILY STUDIES 12 (4 credits)
This course will provide students with the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities to meet the challenge of our dynamic and complex society. Topics studied are multiculturalism, family relationships, social issues and their effect on the family, stages of growth and development in the life cycle, health, housing and consumer issues.

FAMILY STUDIES 12 ONLINE (4 credits)
In this course you will examine how changes in society impact the definition of a family and the functions of a family, as well as explore family trends in Canada and family customs and traditions in different cultures. You will also study how relationships form and change.
