BIOLOGY 12 ONLINE (4 Credits)
Biology 12 online concentrates on cellular processes and human biology. It is a challenging, fast-paced course containing a great deal of interesting and exciting information designed to prepare students for the standards and content of university-level Biology and Biochemistry. The online course is hosted entirely on the Internet, so can be easily accessed from anywhere. Students will design a schedule to maintain a good pace and successful completion. There are great animations and videos to help with the learning process.

CAPP 11 / 12 ONLINE (2 or 4 credits)
Career and Personal Planning 11/12 (CAPP) is designed to help students develop goal setting and planning skills. The aim is to enable students to become thoughtful, caring individuals who plan and reflect, make informed choices, and take responsibility for their own personal and career development. There are four main sections of the course: personal planning, personal development, career development, work experience.

DATA MANAGEMENT 12 ONLINE (4 credits)
This online course focuses on 4 areas: computer basics, business software (Microsoft Office 2003: Word, Excel, Access), the Internet (Internet technology as well as website design), and multimedia technology. It is designed to accommodate students who have had little computer experience.

DRAMA: FILM AND TELEVISION 12 (BLENDED CLASS / ONLINE) (4 credits)
How would you like to learn about the history of motion pictures, the major style developments in filmmaking and complete your own short movie? This course will look at some of the greatest moments in film history, furnish you with its concepts and language, reveal the key elements of video production, and discuss why certain films are masterpieces.  Get ready to take a deep look at why this medium is one of the most fascinating and influential art mediums of the twentieth century.

EARTH SCIENCE 11 ONLINE (4 credits)
Earth Science is a survey course designed to introduce students to the diverse aspects of earth. Lab work is an essential component of this course. Topics include: earth and its geological science, oceanographic science, astronomical science, atmospheric science and earth's history.

ENGLISH 12 ONLINE (4 credits)
Students will learn to write clear and concise paragraphs, letters and essays. Improving writing skills is an important focus of English 12. Understanding and appreciating short stories, poetry and other forms of written communication are also important.

GEOGRAPHY 12 (BLENDED CLASS / ONLINE) (4 credits)
Geography is the study of patterns in the earth, in nature and in human settlement.  Students will be introduces to the studies of the earth’s surface and tectonic processes, gradational processes, weather and climate, the biosphere, energy, managing the environment and topographic mapping.   Throughout this course, students will gain insight into the changing nature of the world around us and learn to be a conscientious, responsible global citizen. This section of Geography 12 is unique in that students will attend one class a week at LECSS and complete the rest of the weekly work online from home. Therefore, good organizational skills, access to a computer with access to the Internet, and a solid familiarity with using computers are essential. The provincial exam in this course (if required) counts for 40% of the final mark.

MATHEMATICS 11, PRINCIPLES ONLINE (4 credits)
This course follows the Western Canadian Protocol curriculum. Topics include: quadratic, polynomial and rational functions, equations and inequalities, reasoning and geometry, coordinate geometry and mathematics of finance.

MATHEMATICS 12, PRINCIPLES ONLINE (4 credits)
Through online learning, students will meet the requirements of and receive full credit for the Principles of Math 12 course. This is a provincially examinable course. Students will examine theories and concepts in problem solving, patterns and relations, shape and space, and statistics and probability. The teacher will support students in every aspect of this course via email, onsite tutorials, as well as through real-time communication online. This is a new and exciting medium for learning Mathematics!
