Begin working towards your new career with LEC's Intro to Early Childhood Education class and consider taking courses in Family Studies, Biology and Law. If you are interested in adding additonal skills, you may want to enrol in our day-long workshops on Emergency First Aid and FoodSafe.

Career Technical Centre (CTC)

  • Drafting
  • Welding
  • Automotive Parts and Light Warehousing
  • Horticulture Technician
  • Landscape and Nursery
  • Masonry/Bricklaying
  • Outdoor Power
  • Millwright

Demonstrated success in Grade 10 English and Mathematics courses are minimum requirements for application to these programs. Some Grade 11 level courses may be recommended. Work experience in the chosen area would be an asset and both teacher and employer references are considered. High school report cards are submitted with the application package. Attendance, punctuality and school and work habits are also considered in the selection of appropriate candidates for each of these programs.

Besides earning credits towards secondary school completion, students also earn college credits. The costs associated with the first year of a college program are substantially reduced for successful applicants to CTC programs.
