Information required when registering:
- A Letter of Permission or the final report card from the school the student regularly attends
- Student’s legal name, English name if one is used, phone number(s), address, parent/ guardian(s) name(s)
- If student was not registered in the Langley School District for the 2010-11 school year, proof of parent/guardian(s) Citizenship and BC residency
- 9-digit Personal Education Number (PEN) is required for all credit courses
(available from your school counsellor)
- School and District attended 2010-11 and where you plan to
attend in September 2011
How to register:
Information necessary to register for ALL credit courses:
- A Letter of Permission or the final report card from the school the student regularly attends is required as proof of the final mark achieved and having taken the course prerequisite.
- Adult Students require only proof of the course prerequisite
- International students must bring a letter of permission signed
by their Secondary School ISP coordinator (ISP Coordinators have copies of the necessary form)
- Photo ID (student card, driver's license, passport) must be shown to teacher once the course begins
**Course credit will not be granted without this information**
Fees & Textbook Deposits:
- Tuition fees must be paid in full at time of registration
- Fees may be paid by cheque made payable to Langley District Summer School, cash, Interac, MC, Visa or AmEx (post-dated cheques not accepted)
- Fees CANNOT be paid online. Registrants for tuition-based courses must register in person
- A fully refundable textbook deposit of $75 must be presented on the first day of class in order to receive a textbook. $75 will be returned upon receipt of the textbook in the "as Issued" condition.
- NSF cheques: $20 NSF fee
- Classes may be cancelled due to low enrolment (full refund if applicable)
Refunds for tuition-based courses are available up to and including
Thursday, June 30, 2011
(a 10% administration of total fees paid will apply)
Reports:
- Report cards to be picked up on last day of classes
Provincial Exams:
- To be written at Langley Secondary School (21405 - 56th Ave., Langley)
- No walk-ins will be accepted
- Only compulsory exams are offered in summer (schedule TBA)
Course Cancellations:
- Courses may be cancelled due to low enrolment. Please register early to avoid disappointment.
Secondary Full Credit Courses
**ALL COURSES OFFERED SUBJECT TO SUFFICIENT ENROLLMENT**
- These courses allow students to complete full secondary courses.
- You are eligible to take a Full Credit course if you have completed the prerequisite course with a C+ or higher, or have taken the course before.
- You can choose from the times and locations listed below.
- Students wanting to complete two Full Credit courses may take both a morning and afternoon class.
Fees for most Full Credit courses:
- $75 Refundable Textbook Deposit for ALL students (A cheque for $75 must be submitted on the first day of class to receive a textbook - $75 will be refunded upon return of the text)
- $700 Tuition for International Students paid at registration
- $0 tuition for Canadian Citizens & Landed Immigrants

Full Credit Math 8 & 9 are offered in an effort to provide a strong foundation of support for math skills. Students will receive a percentage and letter grade and also be better prepared for Math 9 and Math 10.

This course focuses on the development of written language skills and theory to increase student understanding of the writing process.

Remedial Courses
**ALL COURSES OFFERED SUBJECT TO SUFFICIENT ENROLLMENT**
- Intended for students who have already taken the course and received a mark of at least 35%, but have not met the learning outcomes or have only done so at a minimal level. Key outcomes will be covered to enable students to be successful in future courses.
- Students successfully completing a remedial course will be able to earn the course credit and a maximum mark of 61% (C) on their transcript.
Fees:
- $75 Refundable Textbook Deposit for ALL students (A cheque for $75 must be submitted on the first day of class to receive a textbook - $75 will be refunded upon return of the text)
- $350 Tuition for International Students paid at registration
- $0 tuition for Canadian Citizens & Landed Immigrants
